Back in 1909, they were the Teachers of Troy State Normal College—a small college nestled in the heart of Alabama football country and coached by Professor V. P. McKinley. Today, 100 years later, the Trojans of Troy University still play within the competitive confines of southern Alabama, but are no longer small in either reputation or determination.

True to their namesake, the players, coaches, fans and students who have called TROY home are proud of their fighting spirit and their winning ways, and they hold to the future with expectancy, confident that the victorious tradition will continue. As a rising star, the school has amassed an enviable string of championships in the shadow of larger-than-life Southeastern Conference powerhouses. And with the increased exposure its NCAA Division 1-A status has brought to the school, TROY football is entering a new era that will only add to its rich legacy.

This book celebrates that legacy. Rich with photos and memories for anyone who has ever loved the game and this proud institution, TROY: A Legacy of Champions captures the people, the contests, the landmark victories that have put TROY on the college football map.
